THANKS TO NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION!!!
THIS IS A CONTEST FOR PERFORMING SONGWRITERS TO PLAY THE BLUEBIRD CAFE IN NASHVILLE, TENN. TO A ROOM FULL OF MUSIC INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS OF ALL KINDS!!!!!!! It is also a chance to play for music professionals who will be helping to judge the contest, and a place to find new fans for your music among the music lovers that come out to help vote for the winners.
Although this is a performing songwriters contest it is not a singing contest. You just need to be able to play your songs like you would if you were pitching to publisher or playing open mike night. It is about the songs.
There is a very short window to enter. You have until midnight Oct 30. The 32 chosen to compete in the contest will be posted on Nov 10. The first two shows will be held in Nov and the last one in Dec to select the final winners. That will give you time to prepare for your Feb 2 performance at the singer/songwriter showcase for industry professionals at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe.
To enter: Send a $50. check or money order, and CD with 4 original songs with one vocal and one instrument only.
From the entries received there will be 32 chosen to move to the semi finals.
If you are chosen as one of the semi finalists there will be a $25 dollar charge to compete in the semi final shows.
There will be two shows to choose the 16 finalists. (if you make the 32 semi-finalist you have a 50% chance to continue on to the finals)
.
There will be one show to choose 8 of those 16 to go to Nashville. (if you make the 16 finalists you have a 50% chance to win a place!)
If you are chosen as one of the 16 finalists there is an additional $25 dollar fee to compete in the finals.
The winners will be chosen by music industry professionals AND the audience at the three live shows. (so get your friends and neighbors to come and support your music).
The cost to submit four songs and be considered for this great opportunity is only $50.
If you make the first cut and are one of the 32 songwriters chosen there is a cost of $25 dollars to advance to the semi finals
If you are chosen as one of the last 16 finalists there is a $25 charge to advance to the final show.
