ASG’s “Friday Night Live at The Mockingbird Cafe” songwriter series continues this week with folk chanteuse Beth Lee hosting B. Sterling Archer, who has been touring his new record, “Searching Through The Changes,” and songsmith Patrick Murphy, who is making his debut appearance as a featured artist at an ASG event. The feature set from these three fine songwriters runs from 8:00-9:30 with an open song circle to follow.
Beth Lee most recently hosted the Kevin Welch-Dustin Welch “Friday Night Live” segment and will be hosting this Friday’s festivities. B. Sterling Archer has been receiving some well-deserved recognition for his new recording, “Searching Through The Changes,” including being a finalist in both the Texas Songwriter Serenade and Kerrville’s prestigious “New Folk” competition. His music has even caught the attention of songwriting legend Eliza Gilkyson, who stated, “B. Sterling is my new favorite.” Patrick Murphy and his trusted 1974 Alvarez, named Prozac, came to songwriting after experiencing significant personal loss. With the support of friends and community he has embarked on his first recording project and we expect him to be well-tuned to share his journey with us this Friday evening.
This will be a truly inspiring evening of story and song. So, make your commitment right now to be there Friday night, August 30th to experience these three performing together and sharing stories about how their songs came to life. Their feature performance will be followed by an open song circle for those who want to hang out after the show. So, bring your instruments with you and join in the pickin’ circle. Doors open at 7:30 with the songwriter in the round set kicking off at 8:00 sharp. The event is open to the public and general admission tickets are $10 at the door or VIP tickets for $15 with a complimentary beer or wine. This is also a BYOB affair, so feel free to bring your favorite adult beverages along. ASG will also have soft drinks and snacks available for purchase as well.
