Join ASG & Featured Host, Craig Marshall for a special Saturday evening concert & pickin’ circle with award-winning hit songwriter Kostas, Saturday night, April 18 from 7-10 PM at The Mockingbird Cafe. Kostas will also be staying over night to facilitate a Master Songwriter Workshop on Sunday afternoon from 1-3pm, also at The Mockingbird Cafe where we are always serving up music.
You might be wondering to yourself, Kostas? Kostas who?
Well, Kostas is a songwriter with dozens of hit songs under his belt starting in 1989 with “Timber, I’m Falling in Love,” which became Patty Loveless’s first number 1 hit and a string of hits with Dwight Yoakam, including the smash “Ain’t That Lonely Yet.” In addition, over the last 25 years, Kostas’ songs have been recorded by The Mavericks, The Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Travis Tritt and many others. In 1994, Dwight Yoakum received a Grammy Award for “Best Country Vocal Performance” for “Ain’t That Lonely Yet” and BMI’s Country Song of the Year was Patty Loveless’ version of Kostas’ “Blame It On Your Heart,” which also earned BMI’s Robert J. Burton award for being the most performed single of 1994. The same year New Country Magazine dubbed Kostas a “hit-making machine.” In short, Kostas has lived the life every songwriter dreams about living, and he has the stories and experience to prove it.
So, make your plans now to join ASG’s Craig Marshall Saturday night for the concert and pickin’ circle with Kostas and then come ’round the next day after church for the early Sunday afternoon master songwriting workshop. The concert is open to the public and tickets are only $10.
