It has been a long judging process this year, mainly because we had a near record number of entrants in virtually every single category. ASG Executive Director, Lee Duffy recently returned from Nashville after meeting with publishers, songwriters and music industry professionals in evaluating the songs that made it to the finals. The list of songs that made it to the finals consideration round are listed below, and that list has been further pared down. By the end of this coming weekend, we expect to know the names of the winners and honorable mentions in each category, as well as this year’s Grand Prize Winner….
We are now one week away from the deadline to submit songs to this year’s ASG Song Contest. The Grand Prize Winner will receive, among other considerations, recording time with ace producer Stephen Doster. There are also prizes and considerations to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each of ten categories. This means that as many as thirty total songs will receive notice in the competition….
ASG is excited and honored that Chris Oglesby, of Oglesby Writer Management in Nashville, will be visiting ASG June 8-10, for a music publishing workshop and private song pitch appointments. Due to demand, we have added slots for private appointments on Sunday, with only a couple slots available for Friday and Saturday’s private appointments being sold out. The actual workshop takes place on Saturday morning from 11:00-1:30. Saturday’s private appointments will take place before and after the workshop.
