The Austin Songwriters Group is in its 30th year of serving songwriters. ASG is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing ongoing educational, performance and networking opportunities specifically for songwriters to assist them in developing their skills in the craft of songwriting, while also providing them with opportunities to network with music industry professionals to get their songs heard by publishers.
Virtually every ASG activity throughout the year requires participants to be an active ASG member. To maintain “active” membership status, members must pay annual dues, which can be paid on a monthly sustaining member basis. This allows ASG to keep the costs of its programs affordable on an ongoing basis.
With annual dues current, an ASG member is then eligible to register for all workshops, contests and the annual songwriters symposium. Being a non-profit, all revenues generated from membership dues, workshops, contests and the symposium are used directly to cover the costs of the programs themselves and the ongoing administrative costs of maintaining the ASG offices and The Mockingbird Cafe.
Even if you are not local in Austin and cannot attend some of the weekly and monthly recurring events, it pays to become a member to be able to participate in special event workshops, song contests and the symposium.
We keep ASG members informed on a regular basis through email broadcasts and via this website, so be sure to sign up for the emails.
