All winners will receive an ASG certificate award officially designating how they finish in the contest.
Artists in all genres are accepted and the categories for entry are:
Americana / Folk / Blue Grass
Country
Rock / Alternative
Pop
Blues
Christian / Gospel,
Singer-Songwriter
Bare Bones
Jazz / Classical / Instrumental
Lyrics only
General (including patriotic, childrens, comedy, novelty, showtunes, etc.).
Reggae / Hip Hop / Rap
Artists may submit an unlimited number of songs to the contest.
Judges include the ASG board, advisory board, and prominent #1 hit songwriters, major producers, publicists, media, and other music industry professionals
The cost for members is $20.00 for each song entry
The cost for non members is $25.00 for each song entry
RULES for the Contest:
Only one song per CD. You must have a lyric sheet for each song. Fold and Attach it with a rubber band to the outside of your CD case. On the outside of the lyric sheet please put THE NAME OF YOUR SONG, CATEGORY, and PHONE NUMBER. Put the same info on the CD. Do not put your name on the CD or lyric sheet....only on the entry form.
Mail entries to: Austin Songwriters Group, PO Box 2578 , Austin, Texas 78768, or bring them by our World Headquarters at 3105 Manchaca, Austin Texas 78704. You can also drop it off at Music Makers at the corner of Lamar and Barton Springs. Look for the ASG box! Check out Music Makers for anything you might need while you are there. They have been a great support for our group!
All mailed entries must be postmarked by midnight, June 19, 2010.
